Marc and Jan after several happy years at Canterbury House have now passed on their beloved B&B to friends Rachael & Nick Mulford who will be doing their very best to emulate what Marc and Jan have provided.. Marc and Jan wish to thank all their guests for being so wonderful, for becoming firm friends and for supporting them over the years.
Canterbury House sits in a lovely position close to the River Sid and the National Trust parkland ‘The Byes’. An easy and level few minutes stroll takes you into the town centre, with its excellent mix of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and café’s. You will then be a stones throw from picturesque Jurassic Coast seafront, where you can enjoy a walk along the unspoilt esplanade.
We have several comfortable, spacious en-suite bedrooms comprising singles, doubles and twins, including two rooms that are conveniently at ground floor level. All rooms are extremely well appointed and have been designed with your comfort in mind. We only use high quality bed linen, duvets and pillows. In each room you will have free wi-fi access, a flat screen freeview TV, digital radio alarm clock, complimentary hot drinks tray and hairdryer. All our en-suites have a heated towel rail, lovely fluffy towels, luxury toiletries and illuminated mirrors.
Our extensive breakfast menu is, varied, and caters for all tastes and dietary requirements.
A comfortable resident’s lounge is available for your use where you can relax, read or surf the internet (if you have your own wireless enabled laptop/device).
Off street parking is also available on request.
Very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms immaculately clean and beautiful presented.Exceptional breakfast caters for all. All covid regulations in place. Would highly recommend and we will be going back again at some point in the future.
Marc and Jan are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. I am gluten intolerant but the breakfast was superb every morning. The rooms were checked every day but they managed to be covid safe, which again gives you peace of mind. Thanks for a relaxing stay.

It was a pleasure to stay at this superb b&b expertly run in these troubled times by the wonderful owners Marc and Jan as nothing was too much trouble for them. If we ever visit Sidmouth again we will only stay with this lovely couple.

Marc & Jan are great hosts & very welcoming. The whole B&b is absolutely spotless and they were very organised with all the Covid rules in place so we felt very safe. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices. We would definitely recommend Canterbury House B&B.

Jan and Marc were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was delicious and well cooked with a good selection on the menu.
